The Non Profit Organisation for Architecture and Development buildCollective established in 2010 with founding members and architects Elias Rubin and Marlene Wagner, working in developing environments since 2006.
buildCollective is a platform for research and implementation of alternative building technologies, spatial strategies and collective process
The NPO´s name translates in building collectively as well as to build a collective. Collaboration with universities, non governmental organizations, public institutions, companies, sponsors, schools, volunteers, artists, users and local communities define process and framework for each project.
Projects realised cover educational facilities, communal meeting places, technical infrastructure, development frameworks, cultural installations and programming.
Focus is put on conscious handling of location and setting, resources, production of knowledge and the exchange between participants through the collective activity.
From mid 2018 buildCollective NPO is not actively leading implementation process and financing but serves as knowledge platform with founding members as project-consultants, applying their knowledge in diverse global project settings.
